Dear Pet Parent,

Veterinary Hospice is a specific approach to patient care that promotes quality of life for a terminally ill pet through the use of modern medicine.  It is based on the principle that death can be experienced with dignity and as little pain as possible, all in the comfort of home surrounded by family.

Since Veterinary Hospice is focused on giving animals a safe and comfortable end-of-life experience, it is not geared toward curing a patient's disease, but rather toward keeping the disease or any other physical disabilities from causing the patient discomfort.

A large part of veterinary hospice is easing the patient and client into making that final decision for euthanasia.  Due to a myriad of circumstances, many families simply choose a home euthanasia rather than extending life.  This is normal and families should never feel guilty about this decision.

Warmly,

You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
